The 2s welcomed Slievebloom to the Park last Saturday in Division 9. The visitors batted first and were kept in check by the bowling of Prashant, who took 3 wickets. However, thanks largely to a 50 partnership in the middle order Slievebloom were heading towards a 200+ score but Ahmed took three late wickets to dismiss them for 194. The chase got off to a bad start with the top three going cheaply. Prashant started the recovery with a well played 29 but Malkeet speeded up the scoring rate with his second 50 of the season. Unfortunately he got out soon after and despite some good batting from Anubhav, we were all out in 33 overs and 39 runs short.

The rain saved the 3s from a heavy defeat against Leinster last week but there was no reprieve on Sunday against Merrion. The visitors batted first and thanks mainly to Steve's bowling (4 for 18 off 8) late on, were restricted to 136 off their 40 overs. A 50 partnership between Manish and Forhad looked to have set a good platform for the chase, but unfortunately the last 8 wickets were lost for just over 40 runs as we collapsed to 107 all out in 29 overs.

The 1s and 2s are in T2O Cup action during the coming week
